How to Win
The habits that separate winning players from losing ones in Hood Warfare 2.
The Five Pillars of Winning
1. Don't Die
In every mode except Chaos, a death is worse than a kill is good. You lose:
- Map position
- Your streak progress
- Time running back from spawn
- Teammate support in fights
Rule: Retreat from fights you're likely to lose. There's no shame in surviving.
2. Play With Your Team
Every 1v1 is a coin flip. Every 2v1 is a win. Stay within sight of a teammate:
- Push together
- Trade kills
- Never let a teammate die alone if you can help
3. Pre-Aim Everything
Most gunfights are decided before the first bullet:
- Keep your crosshair at head level
- Aim at common enemy positions while moving
- Check corners before entering
4. Use Sound
Footsteps, gunfire, and reloads tell you everything:
- Footsteps - Enemy is close and where they are
- Gunfire - Direction of active fights
- Reload sounds - Enemy is vulnerable, push now
Use headphones. This is not optional at higher skill levels.
5. Play the Objective
Kills feel good. Objectives win games. In every objective mode:
- A player with 5 kills and 3 captures is more valuable than one with 20 kills and 0 captures
- Kills near objectives are worth more strategically
- Control zones, don't chase kills away from them
Decision Making
When to Push
✅ Push when:
- You have a teammate with you
- Enemy is reloading or wounded
- You have a numbers advantage
- Enemy is distracted by another fight
❌ Don't push when:
- You're alone
- You're at low health
- Enemy has high ground
- You have no information about the area
When to Retreat
Retreat is a skill. Learn it:
- Back off when you're outnumbered
- Break contact when you're out of ammo
- Fall back to teammates rather than dying alone
Aim Improvement
Daily Routine (15 minutes)
- Bot match warm-up (5 min) - aim at heads only
- Tracking practice (5 min) - follow moving bots
- Flick practice (5 min) - snap between targets
Settings
- Sensitivity: Lower is generally better (3-6 in-game)
- ADS sensitivity: ~0.8x of hipfire
- FOV: 90-110
- FPS target: 144+ if possible
Positioning
The Three Rules
- Always have cover within one step
- Never stand where you can be shot from two directions
- If you've been scoped in one spot for 3 seconds, move
Power Positions
These are the positions that overlook multiple angles with good cover. Learn two per map and prioritize getting to them early.
Mentality
After a Bad Match
- Don't queue immediately
- Watch the replay of 2 deaths
- Ask "what would I do differently?"
- Take a 5-minute break
Long-Term Improvement
Track your progress:
- Note your average K/D each session
- Record one game per week and review it
- Focus on one skill at a time
Mode-Specific Win Conditions
| Mode | What Wins |
|---|---|
| Chaos | K/D ratio |
| Turf War | Holding 2 zones |
| Hit A Lick | Team trades and post-plant defense |
| Destroy The Block | Objective speed and choke control |
| Chain Snatch | Flag returns and runner escort |
| GangBang | Fight selection and positioning |
The Most Common Losing Habit
Rushing in alone after respawning.
Instead:
- Walk toward the fight, not into it
- Find a teammate
- Push together
- If you can't find a teammate, hold a defensive position and let enemies come to you
