Advanced Tips & Tactics
Master advanced strategies to dominate Hood Warfare 2 matches.
Movement Mechanics
Advanced Movement Techniques
Slide Canceling
- Sprint → Crouch (mid-sprint) → Jump
- Maintains momentum while resetting tactical sprint
- Essential for competitive play
- Practice: 10 minutes daily on Firing Range
Bunny Hopping
- Jump → Strafe left/right → Jump again on landing
- Maintains speed, harder to hit
- Best with Lightweight perk
- Timing is critical - practice the rhythm
Drop Shotting
- Go prone while shooting (Ctrl during engagement)
- Throws off enemy headshot aim
- Most effective at close-medium range
- Bind prone to mouse button for faster execution
Jump Shotting
- Jump around corners while pre-aiming
- Peek high angles enemies don't expect
- Combine with SMG hip fire
- Less accurate but unpredictable
Map Control & Positioning
Power Positions:
- Head Glitches - Cover exposing only your head
- High Ground - Rooftops, stairs, elevated platforms
- Choke Points - Narrow passages enemies must cross
- Spawn Control - Force enemies to spawn where you want
Map Rotation:
- Always know 2 escape routes from your position
- Rotate before enemies flank you (every 3-4 kills)
- Control mid-map for map control
- Don't hold the same angle twice in a row
Combat Strategies
Aim & Accuracy
Pre-Aiming:
- Aim at head level before turning corners
- Pre-aim common camping spots
- Keep crosshair where enemies will appear
- Reduces reaction time needed
Recoil Control:
- Pull down while firing (opposite of recoil direction)
- First 5 bullets are most accurate
- Burst fire at medium-long range
- Full auto only at close range
Centering:
- Keep crosshair at center screen
- Minimize distance needed to aim at target
- Practice tracking moving targets
- Use aim training maps
Strafe Shooting:
- Strafe opposite direction (A → D → A)
- Pause briefly while shooting for accuracy
- Never stand still during gunfights
- Harder to hit = you win more duels
Engagement Tactics
Peek Advantage:
- Peeker has 50-100ms advantage due to latency
- Aggressively peek, don't hold angles passively
- Jiggle peek to bait enemy shots
- Wide peek for surprise, tight peek for safety
Trading Kills:
- When teammate dies, immediately challenge their killer
- Enemy likely has low HP or is reloading
- Even trades prevent momentum swings
- Essential in Search & Destroy
Baiting:
- Use teammate as bait (with communication)
- Let enemy focus on teammate, then attack
- One player shows, one flanks
- Requires coordination
Target Priority:
- Enemy aiming at you
- Enemy with killstreak ready
- Weakened enemies
- Support players (medics, snipers)
Game Sense & Strategy
Map Awareness
Minimap Reading:
- Check every 2-3 seconds
- Red dots = enemy firing (unsuppressed)
- No dots ≠ no enemies (suppressors exist)
- White arrows = teammate sightlines
- Call out enemy positions to team
Sound Whoring:
- Footsteps reveal enemy position
- Different surfaces = different sounds
- Reload sounds indicate vulnerability
- Use high-quality headphones
- Lower music volume, increase SFX
Spawn Prediction:
- Enemies spawn away from your team
- Push too far = spawn flip
- Control spawns in objective modes
- Watch kill feed for spawn clues
Economy & Resource Management
Killstreak Strategy:
- Low streaks (UAV, Counter-UAV) - Use immediately
- Medium streaks (Chopper) - Save for objective push
- High streaks (AC-130) - Wait for perfect timing
- Don't die holding streaks (use them!)
Ammo Management:
- Reload in cover, not in the open
- Don't reload after every kill if mag isn't empty
- Use Scavenger perk on high-fire-rate weapons
- Know how many bullets needed to kill (5-6 for most ARs)
Equipment Usage:
- Throw tactical before pushing
- Use lethals to zone enemies (block doorways)
- Trophy System on objective
- Save equipment for key moments, don't waste
Mode-Specific Strategies
Search & Destroy
Attacker Side:
- Work together, don't split up
- Smoke the bomb site, plant quickly
- One watches flank, others plant/cover
- Time management - plant with 20s left minimum
Defender Side:
- Don't all stack one site
- Play time - force attackers to push
- Rotate when you hear bomb plant
- Use equipment to delay pushes
Clutch Situations (1v3+):
- Play time, make them come to you
- Isolate 1v1 fights
- Use sound to locate enemies
- Don't panic - slow and methodical
Domination
Flag Priority:
- Capture 2 flags, hold them (A+B or B+C)
- Don't triple cap (causes spawn flip)
- B flag is usually most important
- Spawn trap from advantageous flags
Power Positions:
- Hold positions overlooking flags
- Don't stand on flag (easy multi-kill)
- Rotate between your two flags
- Watch for flankers trying to back-cap
Team Deathmatch
Score Management:
- Lead = play slower, avoid deaths
- Behind = play aggressive, get kills
- At 60+ kills, focus on not dying
- Coordinate with team for synchronized pushes
Map Control:
- Control high-traffic areas
- Force enemies into unfavorable spawns
- Rotate as a unit
- Don't overextend
Team Play
Communication
Essential Callouts:
- Enemy position: "Enemy on A site rooftop"
- Enemy count: "Two pushing B"
- HP info: "Lit for 70" (damaged for 70hp)

- Intentions: "Flanking left side"
Callout Rules:
- Be specific (not just "over there")
- Only call useful info (not constant talking)
- Stay calm, no screaming
- Dead players: minimal talking (let alive focus)
