Your First Match

Complete beginner's guide to your first Hood Warfare 2 match.

Before You Start

Complete the in-game tutorial first:

  • Menu → Training → Basic Training (5 minutes)
  • Learn movement, shooting, and objectives
  • Earn 500 XP bonus for completion

Choose Your First Loadout

Start with the Balanced All-Rounder preset:

  • M4A1 (easy recoil control)
  • Glock 19 secondary
  • Frag grenade
  • Basic perks unlocked at level 1

Step-by-Step: First Match

1. Game Mode Selection

Recommended for beginners: Team Deathmatch

  • Simple objective: Get kills, avoid deaths
  • Respawn immediately after death
  • 10-minute matches
  • No complex objectives to learn

How to Join:

Main Menu → Multiplayer → Quick Match → Team Deathmatch

2. Match Starts - First 30 Seconds

Spawn Phase (5 seconds):

  • You'll spawn with your team
  • Check minimap (top-left) for teammate positions
  • Listen for callouts

Initial Movement:

  • Follow your teammates (green arrows on minimap)
  • Don't rush alone - stay with at least one teammate
  • Keep moving - standing still = easy target

3. Your First Engagement

When You See an Enemy:

  1. Aim Down Sights (Right Mouse) - improves accuracy
  2. Fire in Bursts (3-5 shots) - full auto causes recoil
  3. Aim for Upper Body - easier to hit than headshots
  4. Strafe While Shooting (A/D keys) - harder to hit

If You're Getting Shot:

  • Find cover immediately (behind walls, cars, crates)
  • Heal if you have time (automatic after 5 seconds)
  • Don't peek the same angle twice

4. Understanding the HUD

Key Information:

  • Top-Left: Minimap (red = enemies firing, green = teammates)
  • Top-Center: Score (your team vs enemy team)
  • Bottom-Right: Ammo count and health
  • Bottom-Left: Killstreak progress
  • Kill Feed (Top-Right): Shows who killed who

5. Common Beginner Mistakes

❌ Sprinting Around Corners - You can't shoot while sprinting ✅ Walk Around Corners - Weapon ready, can fire immediately

❌ Ignoring Minimap - Miss enemy positions ✅ Check Minimap Every 3 Seconds - Situational awareness

❌ Reloading After Every Kill - Caught vulnerable ✅ Find Cover First, Then Reload - Stay safe

❌ Running in Open Areas - Easy target ✅ Use Cover and Move Tactically - Stay alive longer

❌ Using Full Auto at Distance - Bullets go everywhere ✅ Burst Fire or Single Shots - Better accuracy

6. Map Awareness

Learn Three Key Locations:

  1. Your Spawn - Where you start
  2. Mid Map - High-traffic combat area
  3. Enemy Spawn - Where opponents come from

Use The Minimap:

  • Red dots = enemies firing (not suppressed)
  • White lines = teammate sightlines
  • Yellow indicators = objectives
  • Skull icon = where you died

7. Death & Respawn

When You Die:

  • Kill Cam shows how enemy killed you
  • Watch and Learn - See their position and tactics
  • Press Space to skip and respawn faster

After Respawning:

  • Check minimap for enemy positions
  • Avoid running back to where you died (enemy may be waiting)
  • Regroup with teammates

8. Basic Tactics

Stick Together:

  • 2 players together > 1 player alone
  • Trade kills - if teammate dies, avenge them
  • Call out enemy positions (use voice/text chat)

Use Cover:

  • Always move from cover to cover
  • Peek from different angles
  • Don't stay in one spot too long (enemies will flank)

Listen to Audio:

  • Footsteps indicate nearby enemies
  • Gunfire direction helps locate combat
  • Use headphones for best results

9. Scoring Points

How to Contribute:

  • Kills: +100 points each
  • Assists: +50 points (damage enemy that teammate kills)
  • Objective Play: Varies by mode
  • Killstreaks: Bonus points

Don't Chase K/D Ratio:

  • 5 kills, 10 deaths is normal for beginners
  • Focus on learning, not stats
  • Staying alive > getting kills initially

10. Match End

Post-Match Screen Shows:

  • Your kills, deaths, score
  • XP earned and level progress
  • Unlocks and achievements
  • Match MVP and top players

After Your First Match:

  • Play 2-3 more Team Deathmatch games
  • Try different weapons from your loadout
  • Watch killcams to learn enemy tactics
  • Experiment with different playstyles
